Mrs. Ruby L Lassiter, age 87, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024.  She was born on May 24, 1937 in Cuthbert, Georgia to Dennis H. Ledden and Hortense Price Ledden.

Mrs. Lassiter was a resident of Ponce de Leon, Florida. She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Ponce de Leon, Florida. She graduated from Cuthbert High School in 1954. She then received her degree from Andrew College in Cuthbert, Georgia. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked as a secretary at Ponce de Leon High School for over 20 years She also worked as a Bookkeeper at The Shirt Factory in Ponce de Leon, Florida. She enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters in Georgia and she especially enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren. She was an avid reader.

Mrs. Lassiter was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 57 years, Dewey Lassiter, Jr. and two brothers, Rufus Ledden and Robert Ledden.

Mrs.  Lassiter is survived by her children, Deana Lee Pforte of Dothan, Alabama and Dawn Morgan of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; grandchildren, Heath Morgan (Kinley), Dylan Pforte (Shann), and Dustin Pforte (Kinsley Mercer); great grandchildren, Farren, Sawyer, Hollyn and Walker; brothers, Royce Ledden and wife Elaine, Ronald Ledden, and Ralph Ledden and wife Christine; sisters, Reba Milliron and Rebecca Steadman and long-time best friend, Sarah Hammond. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM, Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; with Reverend Larry McGowan officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Pallbearers will be Heath Morgan, Dylan Pforte, Dustin Pforte, Phil Hammond, Jim Locke and Jacob Locke.

Burial will be held at New Ponce de Leon Cemetery.
