Mr. Ronald Rushing, age 67, passed away October 16, 2009. He was born December 20, 1941 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Louie and Eloise Brackin Rushing. Mr. Rushing was a resident of Theodore, Alabama, originally from Walton County. He was Presbyterian by faith. Ronald graduated from Walton High School in 1960, Pensacola Junior College and University of West Florida in 1969, with a Bachelors of Arts Degree. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era serving his country in the United States Navy with over 7 years of service as a Marine Electrician. He retired from Northrop- Gruman after 18 years also working as a Marine Electrician. He enjoyed bowling and riding his grandchildren on his lawn mower, and being with his family. Mr. Rushing was preceded in death by his father Louie Rushing. Mr. Rushing is survived by his mother Eloise Rushing of Theodore, Alabama; his loving wife of 15 years Terri Rushing of Theodore, Alabama; one daughter Stephanie Bowin and husband John of Biloxi, Mississippi one son Kevin Roddenberry and wife Lorie of Folkston, Georgia; step daughter Brandi Schmitt and husband Warren, one step-son Brent Noel and wife Michelle; step daughter Brigette Murphy and husband Jeremy all of New Orleans, Louisiana; one sister Sue Ellis and husband Jr of Trenton, Missouri; and eight grandchildren Kassie, Madison, Andrew, Brian, Peryn, Blake, Sadie and Bailey. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00~8:00 PM, Monday, October 19, 2009 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Murray officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery, with military honors.
