Dewey Peacock
December 19, 1934 – May 12, 2016
Ronald "Ron" Dewey Peacock, a resident of DeFuniak Springs for over 25 years, went home to be with Jesus on May 12, 2016, following a valiant fight with cancer. He was born in Chicago to the late Thelma and Simon Peacock. After a tour of duty in the Marine Corps, he resided in California where he married and fathered three beautiful children. Before retiring and moving to DeFuniak Springs, Ron spent his working years as a lifelong teamster and as a businessman.
In 1995 he met the love of his life, his peahen, and later they were united in marriage and honeymooned in Jamaica. They traveled extensively in the USA, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America.
Ron was a loyal and compassionate person with a great sense of humor who enjoyed spoiling Jane and his pets and watching his big screen TV from his recliner. He was a loving husband and father, a lifelong teamster and NRA member, a proud patriot, and a member of and attended regularly East Baptist Church in DeFuniak Springs, FL, where he enjoyed the loving fellowship of his church family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of over 18 years, Jane Peacock. Other survivors included two sons; Jerry Peacock and wife, Toni of Mission Viejo, California and Sean Peacock and wife, Debra of San Diego, California; a daughter, Rhonda Peacock of Ontario, California; a grandson, Graham and great, granddaughter, Gracie.
Come join family and friends for a special service to honor Ron's life.
Family will be receiving friends from 1:00~2:00 PM, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433.
A Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend George Chestnut officiating, with military honors by the United States Marine Corps.
Flowers are being accepted or contributions may be made to East Baptist Church at 910 Bay Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435 or the Walton County Humane Society at 365 Triple G Road, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433.
