Robert L. (Bobby) Shaw, husband, father, and friend, passed away on January 3, 2025. Born on December 17, 1947, Bobby was a lifelong resident of DeFuniak Springs and dedicated his life to his faith, family, friends, and community.

Bobby was the cherished husband of Beverly Shaw for over forty-one wonderful years. Together they built a loving home filled with laughter and warmth; and raised their three children: Laurie Shaw-Johnson Spencer (Nate), Dewayne Youngblood Jr. (Kathryn), and Lance Youngblood (Courtney), who carry forward their father's spirit in all that they do.  He was a grandfather (PopPop) to Kiera, Jalen, Peyton, Carter, Ford, and Miller along with three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bobby was proceeded in death by his parents, JP and Louie Shaw.

For over 38 years, Bobby served with pride at the Florida Department of Transportation (FLDOT), where he earned respect from colleagues for his unwavering dedication to public service. His commitment extended beyond work; he was continuously involved in Church activities at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where his family has been deep-rooted for generations.

An avid sportsman at heart, Bobby found joy in hunting and fishing—activities that allowed him to connect with nature while creating lasting memories with friends and family. Whether it was casting a net, or line, into the Choctawhatchee Bay or River, or running and listening to the sound of his prized deer dogs, these moments were treasures he held dear.

Throughout his life, Bobby was involved in sports. He was recently inducted into the Walton High School Hall of Fame as part of the 1965 Baseball Team. A passionate sports fan devoted to several teams but Alabama, the Cowboys, the Celtics and the Reds were top priority if they were playing. Bobby could often be found armchair quarterbacking from his favorite chair!

His legacy will live on through his family and countless friendships. As we remember Bobby today—a man whose kindness knew no bounds—we celebrate a life rich with love for family, passion for nature's beauty, devotion to service above self—and an unyielding spirit that inspired everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in our hearts.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church; 1015 Pleasant Ridge Road DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church; with Reverend Josh Purvis officiating.
