Bob was a loving husband, wonderful father, and devoted Papa to Conner and Lindsay. Candy and Bob celebrated their 52 ^nd wedding anniversary this past November. They enjoyed living in Florida for the past 8 ½ years.

Bob was incredibly smart. He earned a master's degree from Northwestern Illinois University and enjoyed a successful career as a food chemist. He developed two patents during his career.

If you were lucky enough to have met Bob, we are sure that he made you laugh. He had a fantastic sense of humor. He loved fishing and was a die-hard Bears fan.

He had an almost 40-year streak of attending the Indy 500. He looked forward to this fun weekend with lifelong friends every year. He especially enjoyed the times he brought Jason and Conner.

Bob loved dogs, particularly yellow labs. Suede and Bugsy, brought him so much joy.

Bob is survived by his wife Candace Nelson, son Jason Nelson, daughter in law Cori Nelson and grandchildren Connor Nelson and Lindsay Nelson.
