Mrs. Rita Mehlhorn, age 56, passed away March 24, 2010. She was born January 31, 1954 at Chanute AFB, Illinois. Rita is survived by her husband of 36 years, Fred Mehlhorn, her daughter, Sabrinia Mehlhorn, her son Franz Mehlhorn with his fianc Jennifer Hurst, her mother Elisabeth Slama and mother-in-law Edith Mehlhorn. Rita was preceded in death by her father, Robert Slama, and brother Richard Slama. Rita graduated from Niceville High School in 1972 and was a Post Master for the United States Postal Service for 24 years in Argyle. She co-owned Mehlhorns Mini Mart with her husband Fred and her children Sabrina and Franz. She loved family and friends, especially when she could cook and bake for them. She enjoyed helping others. Memorialization will be by cremation. The family will be accepting condolences from 1:00~3:00 PM, Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Mehlhorns Mini Mart. A quest book will be available for signatures.
