Mrs. Rita Faye Duncan, age 86, passed away September 26, 2025. She was born on February 17, 1939 in Dawson, Georgia to Harvey Tolbert Jinright and Margaret Nix Jinright Fields.
Mrs. Duncan was a resident of Freeport, Florida. She was a member of Florida Association of Code Enforcement (F.A.C.E). After raising her children, she became a realtor and then worked with Okaloosa County. She was a Real Estate Agent in Walton and Okaloosa County. She worked for another 13 years with Okaloosa County Planning and Zoning then Code Enforcement. She is a long-time member of "The River Rats" out of Fort Walton Beach. She enjoyed fishing and boating. She loved gardening. She also enjoyed the arts; she was an excellent Watercolor painter. Rita and Duncan owned an Emu Farm for 6 years in Crestview, Florida called Du-Ke Emu Farm.
Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald Blake Jinright.
Mrs. Duncan is survived by her husband, Carlos Duncan; children, Mark and his wife Sherry Roberts of Tallahassee, Florida, Robin R. Roberts of Freeport, Florida, Scot Roberts of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Carla and her husband Milton Purvis of Corrigan, Texas, Robert Duncan of Corrigan, Texas; grandchildren, Josh Duncan, Byrd Purvis, Jeb Roberts, Leslie Dixon, Nikolis Roberts, Darrian Roberts, Jay Purvis; great grandchildren, Brandon Emerick, who Rita and Duncan raised as their son and 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Lynn Stone (husband Bill) from Troy, Alabama and Elizabeth "Libby" Reid (husband Heindrick) from Freeport, Florida and sister-in-law, Gloria Jinright of Eufaula, Alabama. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 -10:00 AM, Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20 East, Freeport, Florida 32439
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home.
Flowers are being accepted.
Pallbearers will be Gabe Eddington, Brandon Emerick, Rick Miles, Allen Adams, Jackson Russ and Tony Reiling.
Burial will be held at Point Washington Cemetery.
