Mr. Richard Dean Bacon II, age 56, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida was called home by our Lord on August 20, 2022. He was born in Johnson City, Tennessee on December 20, 1965 to Richard D. Bacon and Margaret Joyce Martin.

Mr. Bacon was a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was a graduate of Walton High School. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Order of the Arrow. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served aboard the USS America. He received a Sea Service Ribbon, the Navy Expeditionary Medal (Silver Star), and a Navy unit commendation.

Mr. Bacon was preceded in death by his father and mother; his dearest companion Harry W. Walley of Miramar Beach, Florida; and his stepfather, Norman C. Duty.

Mr. Bacon is survived by his sisters Dina Edwards, LaSage Williams, and Katherine Schaefer; and his nieces and nephews Eli & Clay Cawthon, Grady and Ellie Gray Cawthon, Emory Edwards, Cody and Marino Williams, and Nyssa Carroll; and Cainen, Connor, Cohen, and Adeline Williams, Anderson and Tuff Carroll.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers Mr. Bacon requests that a donation in his memory be made to the Faith Assembly Church, 306 Geronimo St. Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32550 in care of: Bro. Toy Arnett, Pastor/Founder.
