Paul Edward
Pazdan
February 24, 1945 – May 19, 2024
Paul Edward Pazdan, known affectionately as Max, Dad, Papa, Moose, and Pepster, transitioned into God's Glory on May 19th, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Alyce. Paul was a pillar of his family, cherishing moments playing golf, savoring fine French reds, and embarking on adventures across Europe.
Generosity defined Paul - he gave freely of his heart, spirit, and yes, even his pocketbook. His capacity for empathy extended to his wide circle of friends, who found solace in his attentive ear and infectious laughter. His joie de vivre and zest for life were unparalleled, infusing every gathering with warmth and mirth.
Rooted in a Catholic upbringing in Chicago alongside his three siblings, Paul pursued education at a Jesuit high school and later Loyola University. His career as a trader on the Chicago Board of Options & Exchange was marked by challenges, yet he navigated them with resilience. Retirement beckoned at the age of 52, granting him the freedom to relish life's simple pleasures.
In 2009, Paul confronted mortality head-on following a terrible car accident. Each subsequent birthday became a cherished milestone, a testament to his indomitable spirit and the boundless love of his family. A move to Santa Rosa Beach, Florida in 2019, epitomized his pursuit for adventure and desire to be close to loved ones.
Paul's memory lives on through his children, Genevieve (Howland) and Alex Pazdan, and his five beloved grandchildren Jonathan, Ashley, Griffin, Paloma and Faith. He is also survived by his brothers John and James and sister Mary Margaret. His laughter echoes in their hearts, a reminder of a life well-lived and love unbounded. Paul Edward Pazdan will forever remain a beacon of joy and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at St. Rita Catholic Church; 22 St. Rita Lane, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459, with Father Michael Hartley officiating.
