Ora Mcalpin
Truitt
December 27, 1945 – August 12, 2023
It is with heavy hearts full of hope that we announce our beloved Ora Amanda McAlpin Truitt entered fully into the joy of the Lord's presence on Saturday, August 12, 2023. She was born in a log cabin in Tallapoosa, Georgia on December 27, 1945, to the late Olin and Inez McAlpin.
She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful daughter of God.
Ora spent 61 and a half years with the love of her life, Dan Truitt. Ora and Dan dedicated their lives to serving the Lord, and Ora's greatest passion was sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, studying theology, and spending time with her family. Ora spent many years working at Waco Elementary and serving families and children who needed an invitation and a ride to church.
In addition to her parents, Ora is predeceased by her brother, Olin Lawrence McAlpin.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dan Truitt; her brother, Leonard McAlpin (Debbie); her sister, Elain Lively Brown; her daughter, Susan Robinson (Brian) of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, and their children: Ally Kimball Markey (Gareth) and their children, Palmer Ora and Lele Ruth Markey; Avery and Truitt Robinson; her daughter, Amy Kelly (Scott) of Sea Bright, NJ, and their children: Danny, Patrick and Grace Kelly.
"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or even imagine, according to His mighty power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations for ever and ever." -Ephesians 3:20-21
