Mrs. Olive Evelyn Cuchens Watson, 88, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022. She was born on September 13, 1933 in Freeport, Florida to William Augusta Cuchens and Marjory McBee Cuchens.

Mrs. Watson was a lifelong resident of Freeport, Florida. She was Church of Christ by faith and a member of the Freeport Church of Christ. She worked as a lunchroom worker at the Freeport High School for over 27 years before retiring. She also served on the Hatcher Cemetery Board for many years. She enjoyed going to church and being with her family.

Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband John Romaine Watson; and four brothers, W.A. Cuchens, Jr., Roy Cuchens, Hubert Cuchens, and Howard Cuchens and daughter in law, Linda Watson, also by great granddaughter, Ashley McCann.

Mrs. Watson is survived by her son John William Watson of Freeport, Florida; daughter Helen Marie Barefield and husband Charles of Mentone, Alabama; three sisters, Wanda Stevens and husband Pete of Pensacola, Florida, Marie Hansley of Freeport, Florida and Wynell Welch and husband Greg of Cantonment, Florida; four grandchildren, Brad Barefield and wife Celeste, Kevin Barefield, Jessica Cook and husband Eddie and Hubert McCann; and five great grandchildren, William Grant Barefield, Mary Elizabeth Barefield, Isabella Marie Barefield, Lorelei Peyton Cook and Alyssa McCann.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20, Freeport, Florida 32439.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home with Minister Eric Farrior officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will follow in the Hatcher Cemetery.
