Mrs. Odell Hutto Whiddon, age 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, June 28, 2010. She was born February 27, 1936 in DeFuniak Springs to Lee and Ibra Cotton Hutto. Mrs. Whiddon was a life long resident of Walton County, Florida. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Baldwin Avenue Baptist Church. She worked as a cashier at Thriftway Supermarket for over 40 years. She enjoyed greeting the people as they came through her check out line and was known for being Blessed by the Best . She never thought about retiring. She also enjoyed working in the garden. Mrs. Whiddon was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Lee. Mrs. Whiddon is survived by her husband of 54 years Frank Whiddon, two sons Michael Ray Whiddon and wife Michelle and Kenneth Joel Whiddon and wife Jennifer, one daughter Pat Carter and husband Buddy, one brother Charles Hutto all of DeFuniak Springs, two sisters Margaret Howard and husband Grover of DeFuniak Springs and Hilda Ballard and husband Harry of Milton, three grandchildren Jessica Laird and husband Eric, Eric Joel Whiddon and Shane Williams and wife Hilary, two great grandchildren Mason and Noah, and numerous nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held 6:00~8:00 PM, Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, July 2, 2010 at Baldwin Avenue Baptist Church with Reverends Wilbur Williams and Richard Murray officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery. Floral arrangements are being accepted.
