Mrs. Norma Padgett Hopkins, age 99, left this world peacefully on January 12, 2105 to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born November 10, 1915 in Holmes County, Florida to Lincoln and Carrie McDonald Padgett. Mrs. Hopkins retired from the State of Florida in 1980 in Tallahassee and moved back to DeFuniak Springs to make it her home again. She became active in the Garden Club, Hemerocallis Society, Woman's Club, ARC, and The Walton Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She was active in church functions and active in meals on wheels. Mrs. Hopkins is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Ray Hawkins and Tom Hopkins, four brothers, Rubert, Leon, AL (Junior) and Payton Padgett; two sisters Cumi P. Cobb and Sarah Zula P. Roberts. Mrs. Hopkins is survived by her daughter Mabrine H Griswold, one granddaughter Sherrie Griswold, one grandson Larry Griswold, three great granddaughters Wanda Ammons and husband John, Bobbi Griswold and Keri Griswold, one great grandson Jerry Bishop and wife Stephanie, and six great-great grandchildren all of Jacksonville, Florida, one sister Ole Ruth P Spann of Milton, Florida and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation services will be held 6:00~8:00 PM, Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, January 16, 2015 at Leonia Baptist Church; 1124 Gillman Road, Westville, Florida 32464 with Reverend Jerry Chumley and Dr. Bobby Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Leonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Those asked to serve as pallbearers are as follows Steven Caraway, Jerry Bishop, Price Bishop, John Ammons, Keith Padgett, Rick Padgett and Seth Ammons.
