It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Ruth Shows in her home located in Freeport, FL on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 8:13am CST.

Mary Ruth was married to Aron Pat Shows who passed on August 28, 2017 in Mississippi. Mary Ruth was a beautiful soul whose legacy includes ten children, four step-children, twenty grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was originally from Rowland, NC but grew up in Dillon, SC. She enjoyed life and had the privilege of living in various places. However home was always where she was - from North Carolina to Panama City, FL to Seminary, MS to Charleston, SC and finally coming back to rest in Freeport, FL.

Mary Ruth is survived by her children, Kelley O'Brian Brooks, Jackie O'Brian, JoAnne Rouser, Michael O'Brian and Patrick O'Brian. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Sheila Bates, Daphne Bagley, Chip Shows and Gary Shows. She will be missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
