Mrs. Mary Evelyn Garrett Etheridge, 97, passed away April 5, 2025.  She was born on
June 20, 1927 in Freeport, Florida to Philip and Kate McLendon Garrett.

Mrs. Etheridge was a lifelong resident of Walton County, Florida. She was Baptist by faith and a member of East Baptist Church in DeFuniak Springs.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Etheridge was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leon and Alton, and two sisters, Joyce Mitchell and Johnnie Meryl Timmons.

Mrs. Etheridge  is survived by three daughters, Sheryl Turner of Tallahassee, Florida, Rhonda Joan Jordan and husband David of DeFuniak Springs, and Tamara Fay Ard and husband Royce of Atlanta, Georgia, and one son, Ben Wilson of Shallot, North Carolina. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Friday, April 11, 2025 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 11, 2025 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Murray officiating.

Flowers are welcome or donations to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals: 242 W 30th Street, New York, NY 1001.

Pallbearers will be Will Ard, Jeb Bodiford, Tyler Fultz, Cory Jordan, Ben Wilson and Donald Way.

Burial will be held at Hatcher Cemetery.
