Obituary

Mr. Mark Stephen Fressell, age 66, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and animals Friday, June 9, 2023. He was born on October 12, 1956 in New York City, New York to Amil and Louise Fressell.

Mark was a beloved local chef and restauranteur. He loved sports, movies, music, animals, and food. Mark was the oldest of three sons, He graduated from Marist Prep School in Atlanta, Georgia, then went on to Georgia Tech where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering. He worked as a safety engineer in the insurance industry.

His lifelong love of food and cooking led him to attending a cooking school in San Francisco, California. Mark then rolled the dice, left his prestigious management position in the insurance industry, and with his wife Kim opened their restaurant, Crust Artisan Bakery, which they have successfully operated for fifteen years.

Mark told friends and family that the worst day at the restaurant was better than the best days in the insurance industry. He loved it. He had found his place.

Mark was a vital part of the Santa Rosa Beach community and provided countless meals to a wide variety of charities and those in need.

Mr. Fressell is survived by his mother Louise; loving wife Kimberly; son Stephen; three grandchildren Gavin, Jackson, Aiden; and two brothers Luke and Matthew.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 14, 2023 at Resurrection Catholic Church; 259 Miramar Beach Dr, Miramar Beach, FL 32550.
