Mrs. Frix, age 71, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014. She was born September 27, 1943 in O'Brian, Florida, to Alford Hamm and Thelma Varnes Hamm. Mrs. Frix was Baptist by faith and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She owned and operated a restaurant with her husband Horace for many years. She loved gardening and spending time with her family Mrs. Frix was preceded in death by her father and mother Alford Hamm and Thelma Varnes Hamm, her husband Horace Frix Sr.; three sisters Betty, Barbara and Doris; and one brother James. Mrs. Frix is survived by three sons Damon Cox of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Lloyd Cannon and wife Lisa of Alachua, Florida and Donny Cates of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; four daughters Lisa Geiger of Trenton, Florida, Linda Holder and husband Chris of DeFuniak Springs, Valerie LoriAnn Cannon of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, and Keisha Dukes of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; five brothers Donnie Hamm, Ronnie Hamm, Danny Hamm, Carl Barden and Jim Barden; two sisters Jodi Petti and Jane Barden; fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Graveside visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 10, 2014 at Frix Family Cemetery, 2827 County Highway 1883, DeFuniak Springs, Florida followed by Funeral service at 11 AM with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating. Floral arrangements are being accepted or donations may be made to your favorite charity. Clary-Glenn Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
