Margaret Ann
Collins
July 28, 1931 – May 15, 2026
Margaret Ann Collins, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on May 15, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on July 28, 1931, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, to Matthew Kilpatrick and Vicie Mae Parrish Kilpatrick, Margaret’s life was a beautiful journey filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories.
A longtime resident of Freeport, Florida, Margaret shared a remarkable life with her devoted husband Woody for 69 years. Together, they traveled the world during his service in the United States Armed Forces and continued exploring the country after his retirement, especially enjoying their many trips to Alaska—an adventure they embraced 14 times. Although she did not share Woody’s musical talents, Margaret stood faithfully by his side, supporting his passion with quiet strength and love.
Margaret’s heart was fullest in the company of her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in their laughter and lives. She had a special fondness for lighthouses and sunflowers, symbols of light and warmth, much like the love she carried within her. Known for her sweet tooth, she particularly enjoyed indulging in her favorite dessert, cake.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Woody, her parents, her son Jerry, and granddaughter Brandi. Margaret’s legacy lives on through her daughter Brenda and husband Danny Waggoner; her grandchildren Cheryl Ayers and Coleman, Shane Waggoner and Karen, Marc Collins and Nikki, Lesa Collins; and her great-grandchildren Sunshine, Lilyann, Destiney, Savana, Mckenzie, Theresa, Alex, Isaiah, Austin, Michael, Daniel, Tyler, and Dana.
Margaret Ann Collins will be remembered as a woman of steadfast love, gentle spirit, and a life richly lived. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who knew her.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Magnolia Cemetery with Reverends Francis Turner III and Matt Douglass officiating.
