Mr. Marcus George Schroeder, age 80, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023. He was born on July 27, 1942 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Reverend Erich Carl and Viola E. Vetting Schroeder.

Mr. Schroeder graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 1960, then continued on to the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There he was the Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity Social Chair from 1962-1965. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1965 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Mr. Schroeder served his country in the United States Marine Corps, H&S Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division (Rein), FMF (MCC 159), as a Captain in the Vietnam era from 1965-1968. In the military he was awarded the Military Purple Heart, Bronze Star, as well as various gallantry service medals for active-duty excellence. Later in life, Mr. Schroeder was the President and CEO of Corporate Central Credit Union. He was the Chairman of the Association of Credit Unions, creating legislation in Washington, D.C. He enjoyed baseball with Jessie, golfing with Christian, life with Bonnie, loving Jesus deeply, life groups at church, hiking, traveling, serving others, and loving each and every large dog! Mr. Schroeder always gave all glory to God; he lived a life of service to others, God, and family.

Mr. Schroeder was preceded in death by his father and mother; aunts; and uncles.

Mr. Schroeder is survived by his beloved wife Bonnie L. (Weekes) Schroeder; children Christian E. Schroeder, Jessica A. Schroeder; only grandson Mason Mark Voss; sister Rhoda Bogardus; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mark's Walk with Christ Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 2, 2023 at Hope on the Beach Church; 3834 U.S. Highway 98, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459 with Reverend Jason Scheler officiating.

Burial will follow at Historic Gulf Cemetery; 1466 County Highway 393, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459 with Military Honors by the United States Marine Corps.
