Mr. Marcus Vernon Francis, age 68, passed away early Sunday morning April 21, 2024 in Grand Boulevard Health and Rehabilitation Center. Marcus was born on February 20, 1956 in North Kingston, Rhode Island to Richard Francis, Sr. and Mary Magdalene Farmer Francis.

Marcus attended Tivoli High School and Walton High School in DeFuniak Springs. After Graduating Marcus joined the Army. Marcus was most known for being a very chatty, talkative person who would strike up a conversation with anyone he came in contact with whether they were young or older, he had no preference in who he talked with.

Marcus was preceded in death by his father Richard Francis, Sr.; sisters, Jan B. Francis, Robin Francis Robinson and niece, Tonya D. Francis.

Marcus is survived by his mother, Mary M Francis; brothers, Richard (Pam) Francis Jr. of Vernon, Florida, Daniel Francis and Paul Francis of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; sisters, Mary A Francis of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and Teresa Francis of Tampa, Florida; nephews, Sean Francis, Richard Hogans, Brian Hogans, Christopher (Krystal) Hogans, Sean Hogans; great nephews, Raheem Hogans, Malik Hogans; great niece, Kiera Hogans; step niece, Tasha McClain; Aunt Jereleen Bay Farmer and a host of cousins and friends.

Memorialization will be by cremation
