Obituary

Lonnie Simon Clark, born November 17, 1941, in Alamo, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on July 13, 2026, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him mourn the passing of a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Lonnie led a life marked by service, love, and quiet strength. He answered the call to duty as a proud Veteran of the United States Armed Forces, having served with honor in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. The values he carried from his military career—integrity, dedication, and resilience—remained with him throughout his life and were evident in his relationships and daily actions.

After his years of military service, Lonnie built a respected civilian career, retiring from the United States Postal Service. His commitment to hard work and reliability made a strong impression, earning the trust of colleagues and members of his community.

Among his many gifts was a talent for fixing whatever was broken; Lonnie could mend nearly anything and often crafted his own tools to get the job done right. This mechanical skill was matched only by his compassionate heart. Those who sought his assistance found not only a skilled hand but also genuine kindness and patience—a rare combination that endeared him to many.

Lonnie’s love for his family knew no bounds. He leaves a legacy of love with his children—Regina Clark, Lonnie Clark, and Joyce Clark—who always felt his steady support and encouragement. His grandchildren, Rory Clark and Caitlin Clark, carry forward his memory and the lessons he shared.

He is also survived by his brother, David Clark and his wife Tonie, whose bond with Lonnie was built on loyalty and shared memories. Each life Lonnie touched was enriched by his warmth and unwavering devotion.

Lonnie is now reunited in peace with those who preceded him in death: his father, Herbert Clark; his mother, Susie Clark; his wife, Dorothy Ann Clark; his sisters, Lottie Farrell, Jarlene Darnell, and Mildred Bean; and his grandchildren, Alexander Clark and Carolyn Martin. Their memories were treasured by

Lonnie, and now he rests among them.

Lonnie Simon Clark’s life serves as a testament to kindness, craftsmanship, perseverance, and heartfelt service to family and country. His gentle nature, wisdom, and enduring love leave an indelible impression on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Memorization will be by cremation.
