Mr. Linard Edwards, age 87, passed away December 14, 2022. He was born on November 29, 1935 in Ponce de Leon, Florida to Mack Edwards and Annie Lou Wilson Edwards.
Mr. Edwards was a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He owned and operated Edwards Paving Company for 39 years. He loved working, farming and gardening. He also enjoyed making Cane syrup. He loved to share his vegetables, cane syrup and honey with the community. He spent his last days sitting on the Wood Splitter, splitting wood, tending to cows, riding around on his Kubota and being outdoors.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mack Edwards and Annie Lou Wilson Edwards; two brothers, James Edwards and Dan Edwards; five sisters, Victoria Heaton, Maggie Day, Merlene DeLoach, Jessie Pearl "Sis" Edwards, and Barbara Simmons and one son-in-law, Robert Bouck II.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sue Edwards of Ponce de Leon, Florida; two daughters, Toni Bouck and Dana Edwards of Ponce de Leon; two grandchildren, Robert Bouck III and Tami Salame, and Taegan Perry; three sisters, Diane Mercer of Grand Ridge, Florida, Jeraldine Nelson of Argyle, Florida and Margaret Edwards of Ponce de Leon, Florida.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Kenneth Harrison officiating and a Eulogy by Wade Mercer.
Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to a local church or community organization.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Free, Walter Bowers, Lefty McHenry, Clay McHenry, Sonny Guiffre and Jimmy McCullers.
Burial will be held at Red Bay Cemetery.
