Mr. Lewis Peck Cawthon, Jr., 67, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2026. He was born January 7, 1959 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Lewis Peck Cawthon, Sr. and Mary Sue Spence Cawthon.

Mr. Cawthon was a lifetime resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was Christian by faith and attended Cluster Springs Baptist Church. He was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother and Christian. He graduated from Walton High School in 1977 and he attended Oberlin Insurance College in Oberlin, Ohio. He owned and operated L. Peck Cawthon Insurance Agency for over 20 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and Dog Handler. He gave generously of his time through youth sports, enjoying coaching Little League Baseball and serving as an umpire for over 12 years. These were meaningful parts of his life, and they allowed him to encourage others, stay involved in his community, and leave lasting memories with many families through the years.

Mr. Cawthon was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Peck Cawthon, Sr. and Mary Sue Spence Cawthon, brother-in-law Robert Barley and niece Kerri Anne Bush.

Mr. Cawthon is survived by his two sons, Eli Cawthon and wife Erin and Clay Cawthon and wife Lauren; sisters, Kathryn Barley, Sarah Meleney and husband Mark and Mary Grace McCord and husband Chuck; grandchildren, Grady, and Ellie Gray Cawthon and a host of nieces and nephews.

Receiving of Friends will be held 1:00-3:00 PM, Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend David Amason officiating.
