Leon DeBrohun, age 97, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, died November 27, 2023, at his home. Born March 6, 1926 in San Diego, California, the son of Leon G. C. DeBrohun and Elizabeth (Beasley) DeBrohun, he grew up in Franklin, Tennessee. Leon graduated from Battle Ground Academy in 1944 and attended Vanderbilt University where he was a Sigma Chi. He enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in Key West, Florida. Leon finished his Mechanical Engineering degree at Tennessee Tech University where he met his wife, Jeannie. They were married on September 4, 1955 and moved to Dayton, Ohio where they raised their four children. Leon worked in Civil Service at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in the Jet Propulsion Lab for 34 years before retiring to Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. He was a devoted family man, deacon in his church, avid Old Testament scholar, and faithful friend.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 68 years, Emojean "Jeannie" (Cline) DeBrohun; his daughters Mercedes DeBrohun of Panama City, Florida and Jennifer (Danny) DeBrohun Scott of Pelham, Alabama; his sons Jarrell DeBrohun of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and Joseph (Diana) DeBrohun of Maryville, Tennessee; his granddaughters Zoe DeBrohun of Denver, Colorado and Elizabeth (Travis) Scott Hinton of Boxborough, Massachusetts; his grandson Nathan (Alexandra) Scott of Birmingham, Alabama; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends especially his lifelong best friend, Jack Parker of Brownsburg, Indiana.
The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice Care for their stellar care of their father and Seagrove Baptist Church for their loving care of Leon and Jeannie.
