Larry Randall “Randy” Boutwell passed away on August 2, 2026. Born on May 11, 1951, in Russell County, Alabama, he spent seventy-five years shaping the lives of those around him with kindness, determination, and spirited dedication.

Randy was a proud son of Shellie D. Boutwell and Ruby Evelyn Bolin Boutwell, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his siblings, Carolyn Cuneo, Lamar Boutwell, and Jeffery Boutwell. His legacy continues through his loving family: his sons Ronnie Boutwell (Amy) of Glenville, Georgie, Donnie Boutwell, and Joseph “Joe” Tanner; his daughters Sharon Kay Jordan or Colorado and Amanda Slocomb (Donnie) of Beaufort, South Carolina, and his brothers Keith Boutwell (Monica) and Kenny Boutwell (Trish). He is lovingly remembered by his 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchild, and one great great grandchild, whose lives were brightened by his presence, encouragement, and unwavering love.

Randy was a dedicated and hard-working individual, best exemplified by his entrepreneurial spirit as the owner and operator of Randy’s Handy Man for several years. Through his business, he generously shared his skills, always ready to help neighbors and friends with a willingness that set him apart.

Proudly serving his country as a Veteran of the Vietnam Era, Randy was a member of the United States Army. His service stands as a testament to his sense of duty and honor, qualities that defined his life and relationships. He was friends with Bill W.

His Christian faith provided the foundation for his character, guiding him with principles of compassion, support, and steadfast belief. These qualities shone through in every aspect of his life.

Randy’s interests brought him great joy. He delighted in baking, creating treats to share with family and friends; especially Italian Crème Cakes for Mom and Dad’s restaurant in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He traveled whenever he could, with favorite destinations including Cherokee, North Carolina —a testament to his curiosity and deep appreciation for history and culture.

Randy developed enduring friendships that enriched his life and supported his journey. Those fortunate enough to know him found a listening ear, a helping hand, and a heart full of encouragement. Larry Randall “Randy” Boutwell’s memory will endure in the hearts of his beloved family, many friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His life was one marked by service, love, faith, and a tireless commitment to others.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Monday, August 10, 2026 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday August 10, 2026 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating with Military Honors by the United States Army.
