Obituary

Mrs. Katie Inez Adkinson, age 86, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014. She was born November 3, 1927 in Samson, Alabama. Mrs. Adkinson was a lifelong resident of Walton County. She worked as a cook at the hospital and for Crestview Elementary School for many years. She loved sewing, dancing, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was affectionately known as "Mema". Mrs. Adkinson was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Mary Alice Peters and brother JB Brannon. Mrs. Adkinson is survived by her three sons Clayton J.M. Adkinson of DeFuniak Springs, Michael A. Adkinson and wife Patsy of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and Rodney L. Adkinson and wife Debby of Freeport, Florida; one daughter Cynthia Kay Slay of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; six grandchildren Michael A. Adkinson, Jr. and wife Erin, Shadler L. Adkinson and wife Jessica, Michelle Ragan, Sommer Adams and husband Marcus, Clay Brown Adkinson and wife Lauren and Charlotte Dean and husband Justin, and ten great grandchildren Annabelle, Maddylee, Savannah, Aaron, Ava, Tanner, Wiley, Katelin, Isabella and Ty. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Glendale Presbyterian Church Cemetery; 9246 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating. Floral arrangements are being accepted or donations may be made to the Glendale Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
