Mrs. Kathleen M. Lindsey, 83, of DeFuniak Springs, FL., was called home to heaven on April 26, 2009. She was born July 15, 1925 to William Shaw and Rhoda Sanford Shaw and lived in Walton County the majority of her life. Kathleen was a strong Christian and an active member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She worked in several local sewing factories and worked for many years in the Henry Koerber chicken processing facility. In life, she focused on serving others. Her special loves included caring for children, gardening and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Lindsey; her parents; eight brothers Albert Shaw, Make Shaw, Willie Shaw, AP Shaw, JP Shaw, Theodore Shaw, John Shaw and Andrew Shaw; and two sisters, Sara Cook and Christian Shambre. Survivors include her daughters Frances Crawford with her husband Jackie of Niceville, FL; three granddaughters, Jessica Crouch and husband Eric of Norfolk, VA, Andrea Mahoney and husband Dave of Severn, MD, and Katrina Crawford of Norfolk, VA; and three great grandchildren, Will Crouch, Anne Crouch and Zane Mahoney. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00~8:00 PM, Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Eastern Star services will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Friday, May 1, 2009 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, with Reverend Owen Smith and Dr. James Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Alaqua United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Young at Heart Sunday school class will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
