Kathleen Ann Eaton, age 66 of Mandeville, Louisiana died October 6, 2021 peacefully in her sleep while in Florida.
Born January 19, 1955 in New Orleans, Louisiana the eldest daughter of Robert Earl Trainor and Charmaine Ann Derbes, she lived most of her life in Metairie, Louisiana. She moved to Mandeville in 2015 with her husband Charles Ronald Eaton Jr. and was married since 2009. There they shared a home with her beloved dogs Rowdy, Shay, and newcomer Bubbs a cat. Kathy had a soft heart for all dogs and always sought to adopt a dog from a shelter. She also had her nephew Grant Robicheaux living with them for the past few years.
Graduate of Riverdale High School in Jefferson, Louisiana. Recently retired in 2020 after a thirty-year tenure serving in the Tulane Law Department and in the Tulane Law Library as a secretary. Kathy had many stories of her interactions with law students and professors and cherished her job at Tulane. Her loud voice and typical Irish flair for storytelling kept her listeners laughing with her as she recounted the events. Kathy dearly loved her family and always included them in her conversations. Keeping up with her cousins and friends through social media and group chats she was able to stay informed and connected.
Kathy took pride of her French/Irish heritage and often joked giving nicknames for siblings, friends, and true colorful descriptions of any political figures. She worked the polls during elections and was interested in local elections. Kathy was an avid Saints fan and enjoyed watching the games with her husband and family members. She was a caring aunt for her nieces and nephews driving to Mobile just to have lunch dates with Brooke and Rachel. Ceremonies and celebrations were important to Kathy and she attended as many as she could to show support of her family members. Weekly lunch dates with her husband was her favorite outing. She was an active member of Church of the King Church in Mandeville since moving to Mandeville.
Kathy is survived by her husband Charles Ronald Eaton Jr.; her siblings Timothy James Trainor, Christine Mary Robinson, Bonnie Lynn Lucio, Victoria Richardson, many in-laws, niecdes and nephews, Steven, Kate, Guy, Nicole, Grant, Rachel, Brooke, Jessica, and Michael.
Funeral Mass/service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church at 1:30 PM; 1501 W. Causeway Approach Blvd.
In honor of Kathy, please wear something with the color purple.
