Mr. Joseph Vecchio age 68, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020. He was born November 4 ^th , 1951in Coral Cables, Florida to Anthony and Phillipa Vecchio

After spending most of his life living in Miami, FL, he relocated his family to Ponce De Leon, Florida. He was Baptist by faith and was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Ponce De Leon. He was a devoted husband, father, papa, great papa, and brother. He retired from Publix Supermarkets as a meat manager in 2016 after 12 years. After retirement, Joe was able to put more time into his hobby and passion of carpentry and loved making furniture and decorations for his family.  His greatest joy was spending time with his brother in law and best friend  Wess Cockrell, his family and above all his grandchildren, as he was affectionately known as 'Papa' by them.

Mr. Vecchio was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Joe is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandra L. Vecchio of Ponce De Leon, Florida; son Joseph C. Vecchio of Westville, Florida; daughter Bernadette Canut (Javier) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; brother Tony Vecchio of Sanford, Florida; sisters Roseanna Pelly (Jeff) of Miami Springs, Florida; Lucille Weiss (John) of Pensacola, Florida; grandchildren Veronica Gonzales (Adam), Cecilia Canut, Brett Canut; great grandchild Alexander.

Joe was a great man! He loved and adored so many and will be greatly missed by all.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast for their love and care given to Joe, the staff at Emerald Coast Hospice and the team at Dr. Mose Hayes Oncology office in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Northside Baptist Church located 2831 North Highway 81, Ponce De Leon, Florida, with Reverend Kenneth Harrison and Reverend Michael Ramirez officiating.

Flowers are being accepted or a donation may be made in Joe's honor to the American Cancer Society at 99 Eglin Parkway Northeast, Fort Walton Beach, Florida 32548.
