Mr. Joseph Lawrence Adair, aged 82, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026. Born on October 26, 1943, in Panama City, Florida, he was the beloved son of Cecil Adair and Catherine Evie Cannon Adair.

A resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, having previously lived in Bascom, Florida, Mr. Adair was a devoted member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Marianna, Florida. A veteran of the Vietnam Era, he honorably served in the United States Army. Mr. Adair was a licensed Real Estate Broker and educator, recognized for owning and operating Adair Rental Estate School and Adair Real Estate Services. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a talented musician who cherished sailing and hiking. He held a special place in his heart for the homeless and made it a point to assist them whenever he encountered them.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jeanette Heisler, and his brother Frank Adair.

Mr. Adair is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia K. Adair; his children, Joseph Walter Adair and his wife Jane, and Matthew Byron Adair and his wife Elizabeth; six grandchildren: Eowyn Adair, Theodan Adair, Joseph Whitley Adair, Matthew Austin Adair, Kaitlin Adair, and, Sabine Adair; one sister, Margie Ann Ewert and one sister-in-law, Joan Adair.

The family honors his memory and the lasting impact of his life.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Eastside Baptist Church; 4785 US-90, Marianna, Florida 32446 with Reverend David Beigle officiating.
