Mr. Jordan Alford, age 67, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away September 8, 2008. He was born February 10, 1941 in Walton County, Florida to Jermiah and Addie Peacock Alford. Mr. Alford had been a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Armed Forces serving his country in the United States Army and the United States Army National Guard. He worked with the Walton County Road and Bridge Department serving as a Foreman and a Heavy Equipment Operator for over 20 years. He enjoyed taking care of his animals. Mr. Alford was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Gary and Joel Alford. Mr. Alford is survived by his daughter Misty Chevon of Tennessee;; four brothers William Alford and wife Margaret, Jerry A. Alford and wife Joyce, Douglas Alford and Steve Alford and wife Sue all of Limestone, Florida; three sisters Hattie Burgess and husband Junior of Gaskin, Florida, Nina White and husband Jerry of Darlington, Florida and Gail Cole of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. A time of visitation will be held 6:00~8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 10 , 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Reverends Greg Alford and Lou Dolan officiating. Active pallbearers will be his nephews Chris Bludworth, Chad White, Brad Alford, Keith Alford, Alex Alford, Danny Alford, John Carl Alford, Ira Miller and Steve Allen Alford. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Floral arrangements are being accepted.
