Mr. John M. Spear, age 63, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 21, 1961 in Greensboro, North Carolina to Michael Mayo Spear and Elaine Helen Stryker Spear.

Mr. Spear was a resident of Ponce de Leon, Florida. He was a Baptist by faith. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He worked as a Field Operations Maintenance Supervisor with the TTX Railroad.  He was a wonderfully talented craftsman, artist and musician. Music and woodworking were his passion. He loved his animal shirts.

Mr. Spear was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Helen Stryker Spear.

Mr. Spear is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kim Spear; sons, Russell Spear and his wife Jessica and Nicholas Spear and his wife Alicia; grandchildren, Zavier, Harper, Joey and Ian; father, Michael Mayo Spear and siblings, Tippe Spear and her husband Joe Terrian, Anna McKean and her husband Paul McKean and Abe Spear and his wife Kistin Spear. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:00 – 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Trackside Bar; 2711 US-90, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433.
