Obituary

Mr.  John Anthony Singletary, age 48 , passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022. He was born August 27, 1973 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to James Willard and Jennifer O'Neal Singletary.

Mr. Singletary was a lifelong resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was Apostolic by faith and a member of the First Apostolic Church of DeFuniak Springs. He played basketball for Ponce De Leon High School, having broke many records. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and a great friend to many. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Assistant Foreman with the Walton County Public Works for 30 years. He enjoyed racing, having raced at South Alabama Speedway in the Road Runner Class. He had won numerous races. He was known as "Big John'. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, cast netting and fishing.

Mr. Singletary is preceded in death by his father, James Willard Singletary, aunts, Gwendolyn Faye Rushing and Linda Singletary.

Mr. Singletary is survived by his mother, Jennifer O'Neal Singletary of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; his loving wife of eight years, Michelle Singletary of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; son, Ryan Anthony Singletary and wife Haleigh of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; daughter, Delanie Singletary of Niceville, Florida; three step-children, Hunter McKinney, Douglas Elliott and Dylan Elliott; two grandchildren, Kade Singletary and Colton Singletary; three step-grandchildren, Raeliegh Elliott, Landen Elliott and Kali Elliott; two brothers, James L. Singletary and Jason L. Singletary and wife Heather all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, nieces and nephews, Larissa Coone, Nolan Singletary and Brooklynn Usher.

A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 29, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend  David King officiating.

Pallbearers will be Charles Ellis, Douglas Elliott, William Mason, Joey McDonald, Lamar Kendrick, Tim Hudson, Charles Carroll and Curt Campbell.

Burial will follow at the Hatcher Cemetery. Flowers are being accepted.
