Mr. John Rayburn Scott, age 66, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023. He was born on December 19, 1956 in Orlando, Florida to Donald Scott, Sr. and Jacqueline Dettling Scott.

Mr. Scott was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He worked at Thrift-Way Supermarket as a meat cutter for 25 years before retiring. He was an avid University of Florida Gator football fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with each of his grandchildren.

Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his father and mother; one brother Jeffery Harrison and step-father, Glen Harrison, Sr.

Mr. Scott is survived by the love of his life April Permenter; his three daughters Candace Johnson and husband James, Melissa Scott, Rachel Scott and husband John Roberts all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; three grandchildren Logan Hicks, Legend Roberts, Holley Johnson; two brothers and best friends Donald Scott, Jr. of Trussville, Alabama, Glen Harrison and wife Mary Rae of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; four sisters Jennie Jones of Orlando, Florida, Tammy Free and husband Johnny of Ponce de Leon, Florida, Deborah Buxton and husband Bart of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Cathy Powers of Panama City, Florida; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Burnham and Reverend Joel Glenn officiating; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
