John Eric Robbins, 62, of Panama City Beach, Florida, passed away on May 12, 2026.
Born in Pompano Beach, Florida, John lived a life centered on service, adventure, and the people he loved most. He dedicated 20 years to the Destin Fire Control District before continuing his career at Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast, where he worked as a paramedic in the Emergency Department. Known affectionately by coworkers as the “IV King,” John was respected for his skill, calm demeanor, and compassionate care for others.
Outside of his career, John embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. He was an avid fisherman, surfer, and skateboarder who loved being outdoors, whether hiking, building custom fishing rods, or spending time around the water. He also had a passion for anything remote-controlled, from cars and planes to boats, and enjoyed sharing his hobbies and knowledge with those around him. John was also a master marksman who began competing at the age of 13, earning recognition and winning numerous events throughout his life. Above all else, John treasured the time spent with his devoted wife and family.
John will be remembered for his generous spirit, quick wit, and heart of gold. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, teach something new, or make someone smile. His kindness and wisdom touched countless lives, both personally and professionally.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Becky; daughter, Scarlett Phaneuf, and son-in-law, Matt Phaneuf; grandchildren, Lily and Harrison; sister, Susan Robbins; stepfather, Sam Adkins; uncle, Art Genneken, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Robbins, and his mother, Karolee Adkins.
Though deeply missed, John’s love, laughter, and legacy of caring for others will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
