Jeanne Louise Valdez, age 83, passed away January 27, 2025.  She was born on December 7, 1941 in Dover, Ohio to Roy Glen Sears and Maxine Edie Sears.

Mrs. Valdez was a resident of Freeport, Florida. She graduated "Kubasiki" High School, Okinawa Japan, Kadena Aire Force Base, Okinawa. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from Azusa Junior College in Azusa California. She then went on to major in fine arts at Pomona Polytechnic College, in Pomona California. She also majored in nursing at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She had a career as a fine arts, artist, as a watercolorist. She was also a member of "Whidbey Island Washington Allied Artist Association". She was the Co-Founder and Co-Owner of "Gary Oak Gallery" Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island Washington, a grade school substitute teacher at "Holy Name of Mary" Parochial School, in San Dimas, California and a Jet Propulusion Laboratory, finance associate, JPL NASA, in Pasadena, California.

Mrs. Valdez was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Glen Sears and Maxine Edie Sears.

Mrs. Valdez is survived by her husband James Valdez, formally of Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island, WA, daughter, Jacquelynn P. Chastain, of Freeport, FL son, Joel Christopher Valdez, of Jacksonville, FL brother, Charles Sears, and her sister Debra Farmer of Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island, WA.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Christ The King Catholic Church, 15542 U.S. Hwy 331, Freeport, FL 32439 with Father Longin Buhalke officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will follow at Heritage Gardens Cemetery in Niceville, FL.
