Mrs. Jeanette Henderson, 85, passed away March 22 , 2025. She was born on January 28, 1940 , in Jay, Florida to Bascom McCurdy and Minnie Gainey.
Mrs. Henderson was a resident of DeFuniak Springs and Crestview, Florida. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Live Oak Baptist Church in Crestview, Florida. Mrs. Henderson was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She graduated from Jay High School in 1958. She worked as a City Clerk for the City of DeFuniak Springs. She also worked as a Classification Officer for the State Office for 20 years before she retired. She was an avid Alabama Football fan. She also enjoyed Atlanta Braves Baseball, playing cards, especially playing Rook with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter Mac Henderson of 61 years, and by her 11 siblings.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by two sons, David M. Henderson and wife Lisa of Red Bay, FL and Gene Henderson and wife Darla of Crestview, FL. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Leslie Lisenbee and husband Kyle, Alexandria Salami and husband Muhammad, Shelby Henderson, Thomas Williamson and wife Kristen, Tyler Williamson and wife Jessica, Kevin Henderson and wife Heather, and John Henderson. She is also survived by her twin sister, Anette Applewhite and eleven great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Friday, March 28, 2025 at Live Oak Baptist Church ; 4565 Live Oak Church Road, Crestview, FL 32539.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday March 28, 2025 at Live Oak Baptist Church; with Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating.
Flowers are being accepted.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Henderson, John Henderson, Tyler Williamson, Kyle Lisenbee, Muhammad Salami, and Trey Knoll. Honorary Pallbearers are Thomas Williamson, Chuck Roehm, and Peck Cawthon.
Burial will be held at Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
