Ms. Jean Ann Godwin, age 72, passed away on October 3, 2026. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Casel Earl Morgan and Yoshiko Asano Morgan.

Ms. Godwin was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was Methodist by faith and a member of Point Washington United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as a Data Entry Clerk at Freeport High School. She was a talented piano player, having played piano at church. She loved knitting, doing crossword puzzles, and watching T.V and movies.

Ms. Godwin was preceded in death by her parents, Casel Earl Morgan and Yoshiko Asano Morgan; her husband, Johnny Godwin; and her sister, Miki Reid.

Ms. Godwin is survived by her children, Brian Godwin and his fiancé Stephanie Smith, and Melissa A. Diumano and her husband Carlito; grandchildren, Riley Godwin, Reece Godwin, Elias Morris and Fiona Morris; her brother, Eddie Morgan and his wife Dawn; and her sister, Mary Su Aldrich.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Friday, October 9, 2026 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20, Freeport, Florida 32439.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 9, 2026 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will be held at Hatcher Cemetery.
