Mr. James David Powell, age 83, passed away September 3, 2025.  He was born on May 30, 1942 in Crestview, Florida to James Muir Powell and Chessie Mae Coon Powell.

Mr. Powell was a resident of Mossy Head, Florida. He lived most of his life in Niceville and Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in 1960. He worked for Honeywell and printing Business. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandfather and uncles and watching NASCAR races. James and his wife, Doris loved caring for their land and the wildlife. He loved his family very much and will be missed by all.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents, James Muir Powell and Chessie Mae Coon Powell, paternal grandparents, Thomas J Powell and Ida L. Weeks Powell and maternal grandparents, John L.B. Coon and Pearlie L. Pierce Coon.

Mr. Powell is survived by his devoted wife Doris; daughters, Diane Adams and Christine N Wiegand; grandchildren, Donna Adams and spouse Rebecca and Deanna Adams; sisters, Linda Powell and Kathy Murray; niece, Toni Hepler, her partner Bill Garvie and her daughters Cecelia, Noel and Brooks and nephew, Tim Murray and his wife Heather and their children Amelia and Brooks; step children, Greg, Karen, Jeff Setzer and Lorrie Smith.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
