James Franklin
Owens
March 12, 1957 – October 6, 2022
Mr. James Franklin Owens, age 65, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022. He was born March 12, 1957 in Ft. Gordan, Georgia to Malcom and Bernell Hines Owens.
Frankie was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Bernell, son, Christopher Drew Owens, niece, Christy Wilkerson Capps and brothers-in-laws, Ronnie Wilkerson and Steven Hartzler.
One could not help but notice Frankie's striking blue eyes, his comforting voice with his southern draw led with a welcoming handshake. Frankie never met a stranger.
His love for smoking pork and a true southern shrimp boil was his signature and a grand entrance to many family and social events. Frankie also had a passion for boating and fishing. One would often find him enjoying a Sunday Funday surrounded by those who loved him, on or near the water. His skilled electrical trade led him around the country supervising multi dollar projects. While leading an assignment at Anheuser-Busch, Columbus, Ohio his path crossed with his love, Vicki. They connected immediately. Soon thereafter, Vicki joined him on the road to continue his work from Arizona to Michigan. Vicki and Frankie married in Bitely, Michigan in 2001. Several years later they found their way back home to Frankie's roots, the Florida Panhandle. Frankie continued his travels as a well respected electrical contractor on the Emerald Coast.
Frankie is survived by his wife, Vicki, sister, Brenda Wilkerson, brother, Kevin (Jewellyn) Owens, son, Bryan (Nichole) Eckert, grandchildren, McKhala and Kyleigh Eckert and Dylan Cunard. His extended McLaughlin family, faithful furry companions, Stella, Bruts, BB, and the cul de sac cat, Ash.
A heartfelt thanks to Nancy, Debbie and David Hughes, Josh and Amber Hunter and Pam for their love and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation on Frankie's behalf to www.dog-harmony.org .
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
