Mr. James "Jimmy" Joseph Strickland, age 62, passed away October 15, 2022. He was born November 29, 1959 in Wewahitchka, Florida to Woodford C. Strickland and Johnnie Brightwell Strickland.

Mr. Strickland was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was Baptist by faith. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He worked as a supervisor and engineer in the offshore oil industry for many years. His favorite pastime was Florida State University Football and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known for his great expertise in grilling steaks.

Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his father and mother; two brothers, William C. "Billy" Strickland and Robert Lynn "Bobby" Strickland; and his sister, MaryAnn Strickland White.

Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife of 32 years, Wardean Strickland of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; his children, Chris Strickland and wife Deanna of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, and Linda Strickland of Bonifay, Florida; three grandchildren, Kingsley Strickland, Blaze Strickland, and Lilianna Hayes; his sister Marsha Strickland Wilson and husband Dean of Freeport, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Howard Taylor officiating.

Pallbearers will be David Shaw, Larry Martin, Billy Ray Willcox, Christopher Strickland, Anthony Hayes, and Bryan Barnhart.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
