James "Jim" Joseph
Brenner
Sep 29, 1948 — Sep 12, 2026
Miramar Beach
James Joseph Brenner, a resident of Miramar Beach, Florida, passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on September 29, 1948, Jim lived a full life marked by devotion to his wife, Barbara Brenner, commitment to his work, and enjoyment of the people and pastimes he loved most. Jim was a devoted husband of 53 years, a devoted brother, and a man of deep Catholic faith. He attended Resurrection Catholic Church in Miramar Beach, Florida, and his faith remained an important part of his life. Those who knew him will remember a man whose life reflected dedication, loyalty, and steady love for those closest to him.
Throughout his working life, he owned and operated family businesses, including restaurants, liquor stores, and bars. His work reflected both an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong connection to family enterprise. He built his life through hard work and perseverance, and he took pride in the businesses he helped guide and sustain.
Outside of work, he found joy in the things that brought him peace and companionship. He was a talented guitar player and a passionate golfer, pursuits that no doubt gave rhythm and pleasure to his days. He also dearly loved his dogs, Gigi and Bella, who held a special place in his heart.
Mr. Brenner is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Brenner. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother, Tony Brenner; his niece, Shannon Laird, and her husband, Micah; his great-niece and great-nephew, Pateley Laird and Ripley Laird; and Ellen Thompson, his business associate. Together, they carry forward the memory of a man whose presence in their lives was meaningful and enduring.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Brenner, and his mother, Bertha Stephan Brenner.
Mr. Brenner will be remembered with love for his devotion to family, his faith, his work, and the simple joys that shaped his life so well. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date.
Flowers are being accepted.
