With grateful hearts and hope in the Lord, we celebrate the life of Irene Haliday, who was called home to Heaven on July 29, 2026, the feast day of Saint Martha, patron saint of hospitality and a model of devotion in serving Jesus and His disciples—a fitting reflection of Irene’s own life of faith and service. She was the loving mother of Kathryn Mary Haliday (deceased), David Charlton and Elizabeth (Tony) D’Anca; grandmother of William Charlton, Isabel, Nora, Tommy and Danny VonBraunsberg and Ryan Artzer; daughter of Harold and Isabel Charlton; and sister of Georgia Pikarski. Raised in Seattle, Washington, Irene later raised her family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

We grieve her absence, yet take comfort knowing she has heard the words she longed for: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Irene’s greatest love was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her Catholic faith, devotion to the Blessed Mother, steadfast prayer, and trust in God were the foundation of her life and a source of grace to everyone she met.

She loved her family deeply and made every person feel heard and cherished. Her home, table and heart were always open. With a warm meal, a listening ear, encouragement, or prayer, Irene gave generously and without hesitation.

Her kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit brought peace to others. She never met a stranger—only another child of God to love.

Prayer was one of Irene’s greatest ministries. She was a member of the Muffin Group, a prayer group at Holy Family Catholic Church in Milwaukee. At St. Rita Catholic Church, she organized a Rosary group after daily Mass and raised funds through Bosnian Relief to purchase goats for refugees. She also served faithfully at Sacred Heart Hospital and quietly gave her time wherever needed.

Most recently, Irene found great joy worshipping with the St. Anthony Mary Claret SSPX Chapel Latin Mass community in Miramar Beach, where her reverence for God and love of the Catholic faith continued to flourish by being a “fountain of prayer”.

For more than forty years, Irene helped others pursue healthier lives through her work with Shaklee. She shared clean, natural living, turned customers into cherished friends and enjoyed traveling the world with the company she loved. Grateful for improvements in her own health, she credited God’s healing hand and shared that hope with others.

Irene’s remarkable strength came from her faith. Through every joy and challenge, she remained peaceful and trusted completely in God’s plan.

To many, Irene was a rock, trusted friend, prayer warrior, sister in Christ, source of encouragement and “Bonus Mom”. Through hospitality, compassionate listening and unconditional love, she gave freely without asking anything in return.

Her legacy lives on in the faith she modeled, the love she shared and the countless lives she touched. She inspires us to love more deeply, serve more faithfully, pray more earnestly and trust more completely in the Lord.

Irene was a treasured mother, grandmother, friend and faithful servant—a priceless gift from God and, to many, an angel among us.

Until we meet again, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life, knowing Irene is healed, whole, at peace and forever in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

“Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.”

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Monday August 3, 2026 at The Chapel of 30A; 61 Topsail Village Dr, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 3, 2026 at The Chapel of 30A.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Saint Anthony Mary Claret Chapel at 686 Hwy 2378, Miramar Beach, FL 32550.

Burial will be held at Historic Gulf Cemetery.
