Henry Preston Wright, of Freeport, FL, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2020 at the age of 80. Preston was born on August 19,1939 in Escambia Farms, FL, to George W. Wright and Piercie Mikel Wright.  He grew up in Laurel Hill and Fort Walton Beach and joined the Navy in 1956.  After returning to Fort Walton beach, Preston worked for Gator Distributing for 17 years.  Upon leaving Gator, he was a long-haul truck driver for a number of years, finally settling into Freeport, FL and working for the City of Freeport. He married Paulette on November 8,2003.  Preston recently retired from the City of Freeport Water Department.  Preston enjoyed hunting and fishing and made a lot of memories over the years at Smokehouse Lake in Freeport and Bryant Landing in Wewahitchka. Preston is survived by his wife Paulette Wright, daughter Angel Vos and husband Steve (Warner Robins GA), son George Wright and wife Rhonda (DeFuniak Springs FL), son Timothy Wright and wife Kim (Locust Grove GA), daughter Tammie Wright Herren and husband, stepson Dobbin Bates and wife Jeramie (Freeport FL), stepdaughter Melanie Cornman and husband Tony (Panama City Beach), grandchildren Christina, Jocelyn, Kasey, Brandon Julia, Cristopher, Ashley, Garrett, John, Elijah, Amanda, Dillon, and Jonathan, 12 great-grandchildren, and his brother Carlus Wright and Cathie of Spring TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Nell Culp, his son Clayton Wright, his grandson Carl Vos and his nephew Greg Henderson. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday May 21, 2020 from 5:30-7:00PM at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home & Crematory; 150 State Highway 20 East, Freeport, Florida 32439. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Preston's life.
