Hartley J
Golden, Jr,
January 17, 1942 – September 8, 2024
Mr. Hartley J Golden, Jr, or as most would call him, Captain "Butch" Golden. He was first and foremost a Christian and he was certain of his eternal home in Heaven. He was always placing others before himself. Even until the end, he wanted to make sure his children were attending church and school and that they were making the best decisions for themselves. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Destin, Florida for over 75 years, where he and his son Jay were baptized.
Mr. Hartley graduated from Choctaw High School in Fort Walton Beach in 1961. Captain Butch served in the United States Air Force as a SGT and fought in the Vietnam War, having served in Thailand. He was a charter boat captain as well as a phenomenal fisherman. He loved being on the water and teaching people how to fish. He will be greatly missed, but we know that he is in Heaven, celebrating and enjoying his eternal home.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hartley J. Golden Sr. and Barbara Golden, his sister, Becky Dubuisson and his oldest son, Allan R. Golden.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Consuelo Golden, his youngest son Hartley J. Golden, III (Jay) and wife, Christianna Ditman Golden, their children Charlotte Eileen Golden, Hartley J. Golden, IV, and Reuben Ditman Golden as well as his numerous grandchildren, Antonio Golden and his wife Wendy; Brianna Golden and her children, Natalia, Thiago and Leon; Alessandra Golden and her Children Jaz and Jayce, Enrique Golden and his wife Rosie and their son, Kai; nephew and niece John Dubuisson Jr and Bobbi Richardson.
Celebration of life services will be held for both Captain Butch and his son Allan R. Golden on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Destin, Florida from 4:00-6:00 PM. Please bring pictures and a covered dish. They loved good food and good family.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in the memory of Mr. Hartley J. Golden, Jr. to his family; through Zelle Hartley Golden or Venmo @ditman3 .
