Hans Heinrich
Cosson
July 17, 1956 – July 10, 2024
Hans Heinrich Cosson, 68, has flown this weighty realm on July 10, 2024. Hans was born in Germany, July 17, 1956 and brought to the US by Donnie Hugh and Amy Cosson when he was three years old. They adopted Hans and brought him home to a loving family. He stole our grandaddy's heart and worked beside him whenever he could. Hans graduated from Walton High School in 1974.
He was a daredevil, never afraid to try something new, he rode a unicycle on the steep hill above his home, he rode bareback on any horse available, he teased our great grandfather's bulls relentlessly. He loved to camp on Alaqua Creek. He was an avid outdoorsman, happiest on or in water. He loved creeks, rivers and bays. He boated, skied,
rowed and fished fervently. He developed a passion for Cedar Key, FL back in the early '90's that followed him through life. Hans worked outdoors in carpentry, asphalt, house moving, and trenching fiber optics and gas pipelines.
He lost friends and relatives who passed before him. Glen Adkison, his uncle was Hans' friend and often guardian, who guided Hans when his road was bumpy. The passing of Jojo Brown, his best friend for many years, left Hans bereft.
Hans was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Brandon Lee Cosson, his daughters, Jeanne Nichole Cosson, Amy Caitlin Cosson, and Cianna Haley Cosson. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jayden and Ashlyn Cosson, Dakota Jaxon Peabody, Joleigh Elyse Cosson, Whitley Tate Higdon and Benton Ray Higdon. Hans is also survived by his brother, Mike Cosson, and sister, Tanya Crispin, a niece and a nephew. His cousins, uncle and friends will carry the void that losing Hans brings.
We will never forget the skinny, shirtless little boy who stepped into our world and changed our lives.
Hans' ashes will be spread at Cedar Key, FL by his family at a later date.
