Ginger, at the young age of 69, passed away at HCA Florida Fort Walton on January 26, 2025. She was born on March 2, 1955 in Corsicana, Texas to Maude and George Washington Skinner. She was later adopted by Gladys and Roy Starnes on March 24, 1956.

Ginger grew up in Corsicana, Texas and after graduating from Corsicana High School in 1973 she decided on a life full of love and adventure. She enjoyed eating good barbecue and occasionally splurging on a white mocha cappuccino. She especially loved her dogs, being a breeder for part of her life, and spending time with her family.

Ginger was preceded in death by her husband, John Horchy, son, Shawn Harris, birth parents, Maude and George Skinner, adopted parents, Gladys and Roy Starnes, and sisters, Glenda Longshore, Mary McAllen, Silvia Deakyne, and Trudy Skinner.
