George Edwin
Hartsuch
July 26, 1944 – May 5, 2026
Mr. George Edwin Hartsuch of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away on May 5, 2026 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on July 26, 1944 to Jackson Hartsuch and Violet Pearl Barnett Hartsuch.
Mr. Hartsuch graduated from Eastern High School in June of 1962. He was a member of their marching band. He served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam. Our family is proud of his courage. George worked at Michigan State University in the Anatomy Department for several years before moving to Florida. He was a part of the team that created the visual effects for the “Haunted Mansion” at Disney World. A chance to work at the VA in Phoenix, Arizona led him to help develop the computer program to convert patients records, a system adopted by the hospitals across the country.
Mr. Hartsuch is survived by his wife, Cecelia Hartsuch, and a sister Judy (Herbert) Giles and son Kirk. After many years of pain, he is at rest. He had an interesting life and will be loved and missed forever.
A service will be held at a later date.
