Entered into this life on September 25, 1928 in Fair Bluff, North Carolina and entered into rest on November 13, 2009 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Mrs. Sutton met the love of her life, a Florida boy while he was working in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Leon Earl Buddy Sutton, who preceded his wife in death on August 12, 1988. They married August 12, 1954, traveling across the United States while he worked construction. They had two beautiful children, Vicki Lynn Burnham (Sutton), husband, Gary of Freeport, Florida and Leon Earl Buck Sutton, Jr., of Ponce de Leon, FL and wife Marion Sutton of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Buck preceded his parents in death on May 15, 1985. The Suttons came home to Florida in the Ponce de Leon area in 1972. Mrs. Suttons grandchildren; Jennifer Nichole Lukacz and husband, Timmy of Colorado Springs, CO and great granddaughter, Victoria Elizabeth Luckacz and great-grandsons, Tyler and Hunter Luckacz, William Walter Sutton and wife Rhiannon of Ponce De Leon, great granddaughter, Lillian Hope Sutton, Heather Rose Sutton-Rushing and husband Ryan of Ponce de Leon, FL, great granddaughter, Morgan Carmie Rushing, Jada Rose Fretwell, great grandson, Hoyt Leon Rushing. Mrs. Sutton had three children from a previous marriage, William Wayne Ballentine and wife Ruth, of Colorado Springs, CO, who have three sons, Glen, Wayne and Tommy, all currently residing in Nebraska and three great grandchildren; George Hugh Ballentine and wife Debbie of Copperas Cove, TX, who have two sons, Keith and Stephen. George also preceded his mother in death. Debra Geneva Waters, of St. Stephens, S.C. who have two sons, Mark Kessler and Adam Waters and daughter, April Waters. Mrs. Sutton was the oldest of twelve children and is survived by her siblings, Bob Meares of Stage Coach, NV, Lois Ann Aranda of Denver, CO, Sue Alexander of Coral Springs, Fl, Douglas Bowers of Landson, S.C., Roger Bowers of Goose Creek, S.C., Jimmy Bowers of New Boston, MI, Kenny Bowers of Hanahan, SC, Joseph Kelly Bowers of York, SC, George Franklin Bowers of Amsterdam, Holland, Betty Tompkins of Charleston, SC, Joyce Nicholson of Marianna, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sutton was a beautiful, spiritual being who was loved by all who knew her. God has called one of his special angels home to begin her service to Him on high. She will be deeply missed by those she has left behind. A time of visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Otter Creek United Methodist Church, 1492 Jack Johnson Lane, Ponce De Leon, FL 32455. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Otter Creek United Methodist Church with Reverend Ira Bird officiating. Burial will in Otter Creek Cemetery. Special thanks from the family to James and Francis Howell and the staff at the Howell Assisted Living Facility of DeFuniak Springs who have cared lovingly for Mrs. Sutton during the past three and half years of her life and became her extended family. Special thanks also to Dr. James Howell and staff, her personal physician, who was also a part of the extended family.
