Mr. Garlon Ray Weeks, 85, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022. He was born on January 8, 1937 in Hacoda, Geneva County, Alabama to Ruth Willard Weeks and Ecie Wise Weeks.
Mr. Weeks was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Baldwin Avenue Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the Armed Forces, serving his country in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Florida A&M University, receiving his bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Science. He owned and operated Weeks's Pharmacy in Freeport for 27 years before retiring. He also worked as an aircraft mechanic at Eglin Air Force Base and Fort Rucker. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved farming, fishing, camping, and watching old Westerns and Elvis. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren in sports and school activities.
Mr. Weeks was preceded in death by his father and mother, and his brothers-in-law Buddy Supple and Clarence Cooley.
Mr. Weeks is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Griselda Weeks of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; children (all of DeFuniak Springs) Greg Weeks and wife Cindy, Chris Weeks, and Mark Weeks and wife Cherelle; grandchildren, Cole Weeks and wife Alexis, Abby Weeks, Ally Weeks, Audrey Weeks, and Logan Weeks; one great-grandchild, Lincoln Weeks; two sisters, Donnie Faye Cooley of Crestview, Florida, and Helen Supple of DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
A time of visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:30 PM, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Magnolia Cemetery, 222 North Park Street, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435 with Brother Lyle Seigler officiating and Military Honors by the United States Air Force.
Pallbearers will be Greg Weeks, Chris Weeks, Mark Weeks, Cole Weeks, Tracey Dickey, Mac Carpenter, and Logan Weeks. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Sanford, Alan Rutherford, and Glen Chesser.
